I have a hard time defining my work as it embodies my mood, anxiety, desires, fears and feelings that I find difficult to express with words. I paint a landscape that has an emotional effect on me as I hope it will evoke an emotional response from the viewer. As music creates a mood for the listener I hope my paintings will create this for the viewer. My paintings of storms are particularly indicative of the effectiveness of the light on my psyche. I savor the light after the storm has passed. My recent paintings of domestic animals is a break from my moody landscapes and has had a nourishing effect on me The unconditional love that a pet has for it's owner softens even the hardest of hearts and brightens the darkest days.
