I have been a full-time, working studio artist since graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 1974 with a degree in painting. I have had continuous representation since moving to Houston in 1981; McMurtrey Gallery for 34 years and currently Hooks-Epstein Galleries. Through out my art career I have been represented and exhibited in many gallerie,spaces and museums in The Us and Abroad. My art is most closely linked to the abstract expressionist tradition. I have garnered significant inspiration from both Houston and travels abroad. While living in Holland in 1988 -89 I took notice of the unusual papers that purchases were wrapped in. I began collecting and working them into collage form into my works on paper. From that point on, I had a mission of collecting hand-made papers in the countries I have traveled and in my urban adventures around the diverse metropolis that is Houston. This began my newest series of "Collage Paintings". Most recently I have been immersed in mixed media of various sizes on canvas, paper, and board. I recently closed my one person exhibit at Hooks -.Epstein Galleries in February 2018.
