Arts Programming Assistant
Sawyer Yards is seeking a multi-faceted part-time assistant who is willing to learn and contribute a variety of skills. Applicants should have an interest in art, curating, and arts management. Sawyer Yards provides an excellent opportunity for those who wish to develop skills necessary for navigating the art world. Duties include working closely with the Creative Director, handling and presenting art, cataloging exhibitions, working with partner organizations, as well as working with Sawyer Yards on public relations and marketing activities including social media for exhibitions. Sawyer Yards is a small, close-knit team and a new addition should work well with others, be open-minded, flexible and contribute to a positive and energetic atmosphere.
The assistant will report directly to the Creative Director but will also work closely with all other team members. This position requires a maximum of 20 hours a week, some evening and weekend hours required. Interest working in the arts is a must, design experience preferred.
General Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Creative Director

Update exhibition portion of the website as needed

Create and install exhibition vinyl

Create and maintain marketing materials for exhibitions, including calendar and website listings

Catalog Sawyer Yards Exhibitions

Aid in installation and de-installation of Sawyer Yards exhibitions

Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor degree in fine art or design preferred
-
Minimum 2+ years of gallery/museum work, or related field

Experience working in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail

Adaptability in a constantly changing work environment

Ability to prioritize and independently manage workload

Strong communication and writing skills

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Various Website Platforms (Ex. Wix, Squarespace, Wordpress, etc.) preferred
